Helsinki (30.12.2010 - Juhani Artto) Ann Selin, the President of the Service Union United PAM, has 26 wishes for the New Year. They are as follows.

  • More people get a job or place for studying.
  • Employees receive a living wage.
  • Part-timers get more working hours when they want to have.
  • The amount of temporary jobs decreases.
  • No temporary and permanent lay-offs.
  • Trust between employers and employees improves.
  • Management becomes more interactive.
  • Employees fare well as the working pace is moderate.
  • Working hours are flexible as to the needs of the employees and their families.
  • Work shifts are planned well in advance.
  • It is pleasant to leave for work.
  • The work offers enough challenges and opportunity to learn new things.
  • The atmosphere at the work place is supportive.
  • It is nice at the work place.
  • Everybody feels to be heard and to belong to the working team.
  • Everybody are offered in good time the skills and information needed in their work.
  • One may influence at the work place things concerning him- or herself.
  • Procedures applied at the work place are just and known by everybody.
  • One is carefully instructed to the new job.
  • Employees are not replaced by trainees.
  • Trainees are well instructed.
  • Collective agreements are respected and unnecessary disagreements are avoided.
  • At the work place everybody follows the commonly approved rules.
  • All treat each other equally and appreciate know-how of the others.
  • Plenty of young people, and also adults, seek their way to education in the service sector.
  • Respect towards service sector vocations rises.
